Excellant book for getting to the bones of most topics encountered in the above 2 specialties. Succinct summaries of some difficult topics, and a great place for anaesthesia definitions. Would recommend to all trainees sitting exams.

Excellent back up while reviewing for exams

This book is excellent for a quick tune up on subjects while studying for exams. I prefer studying by doing case studies and mcq's instead of reading long texts. Hence i use this book as a quick reference (together with the 'Oxford handbook of Anaesthesia'). Comes recommended.

This book is targeting readers who are new to electronics. The content is very basic and the language is kept simple - about on the same level with what is taught in some high schools. Math is simple and also very well explained. Any concepts discussed in the book are explained from ground up. You are not just presented with how something works but the author helps you discover it yourself from the very foundation throughout the book why things work as they do.

The book starts to explain conductors and insulators and what current and voltage really means. Next resistors are discussed with Kirchoff's and Ohm's laws. Once this foundation is built, the book moves on to explore the difference between DC and AC and how to calculate impedances with capacitors and inductors before the book starts to dive into semiconductors. The common semiconductors such as diodes, bipolar transistors, and different FETs are explained. The last chapters talk about linear (analog) and digital integrated circuits. The appendix has some valuable information about thermionic (vacuum) tubes which are still found today in high powered radio transmitters.

The book is an easy read and helps the newbie to understand the basics of electronics. The book teaches more than you need for the Technician or General exam but less than what is required for the Extra.

"Understanding Basic Electronics" provides a simplified vehicle for learning electronics theory. While this is published by the ARRL and aimed at the amateur radio audience, it provides the fundamentals of electronic theory to work with micro controllers or audio equipment. The math required has been simplified with the use of calculators. Even a reference is provided on using the calculator. While an introductory text, the material includes information on digital devices and circuits and even some theory on vacuum tube operation. In all an excellent text that would benefit from more examples and sample problems to work out.

Best basic electronics book out there

I have read several introductions to electronics over the years, and this is the best I've found. True, there are no experiments, but it gives you a solid foundation of knowledge for moving on to more advanced books. Highly recommended.

This book is a wellspring of deep and rich insights of Jesus, his life, his intimate relationships with his Abba and family, and his unconditional love for our world. It is a must read, and I am so grateful to have discovered this jewel which is enriching and enlightening my life of prayer, and deepening my Christian walk of faith!

As a pastor and a chaplain for a healing minisry I thought that prayer was a central part of my life. After reading David Keller's book; Lord Teach Us to Pray my eyes, mind and heart were opened to a new dimention in my prayer life. To begin to pray as Jesus prayed helps me to understand the simplicity and yet the power of the Lord's Prayer. Thank you David for your insight and indepth study of Jesus' time here on earth. he said that he believed that the fullness of God was pleased to dwell in Jesus

While I didn't bother reading the book, I can tell you that my discussion with the author revealed that He is NOT a Born Again believer in Jesus Christ. I asked him to questions: I asked him if he believed that Jesus Christ is creator God himself.....he said that he believed that the fullness of God was pleased to dwell in Jesus, but would not make the confession that Jesus Christ is Creator God himself.
I asked him if he had been Born Again. He told me that he had a relationship with Jesus but would not confess to being Born Again.
I told him that unless one is Born Again, believing that Jesus Christ is God himself, that he would die in his sins. He told me that he was sorry that he didn't conform to "my" strict and rigid understanding of what salvation involved...thus revealing the fact that this man does not know the Jesus of the Bible.

Dark and Steamy

Inheritance is a romantic,erotic novel, its characters are likeable and easy to relate too.

I will try my hardest not to let any spoilers slip out, but I really enjoyed this book.
I read it very quickly, because I found it easy to read, full of twists, I couldn’t put it down.
The novel is written from the point of view of three characters, each chapter you get a different view, which I really liked, its unusual but makes it more interesting.
Yes there is sex here, but it’s not gratuitous, in fact I’m hoping Zoey’s next book will have even more of the sexy times!
What I liked most was the fact there is actually a story here. It’s not just people jumping into bed and grinding on down for the sake of it. I could easily imagine every character having a full life, even spin-off novels of their own.

The complex nature of the two mains was great. They each have their own issues, baggage if you will.

The way Zoey has approached sexy stuff is great actually. Its pretty hard to write erotic descriptions without them sounding cheesy and trite. If I hear one more time about people’s inner goddess or warmth?, yes warmth has been used in a book to describe a womans ‘bits’ I mean there is just no need for tiptoeing around. If your going to say pussy, then say it, and please continue to say it through the book! Changing your mind about words you use for body parts half way in the book is annoying and just shows sloppy editing I guess. Fortunately for me, Zoey hit all the right spots with the language she used. Not too crude, not too prissey, not to cheesy.

Talking of which, the editing here is great. I will be honest. I have read many, many (cheap and nasty) erotic novels. One thing which is common is the lack of decent editing. Spelling mistakes, I can forgive the odd one but some are rife and that’s a deal breaker for me. I can’t read a book which has been hurriedly and sloppily thrown together and shoved on Amazon.

I’m looking forward to the next book very much! bring on book two :)

Concertinaed???

I got off to a bad start reading this when the fifth word was "Concertinaed" and I had no idea what the hell that is supposed to mean, something that doesn't happen too often, even if English is not my first language. Fortunately there were many other words, all of which I could understand, and almost all of them with much less letters (like four).

The author is not shy in describing sex. But this is not some kind of mindless porn. If anything, the main message of the book is that feeling matters.

My favorite line of this novel was "something has come up", when one of the characters is changing his plans suddenly. Sorry, you'll need to read the book to understand what's so remarkable about that.

If you do, you'll find some nice comedy in the mix. It worked well for me.

Disclosure: The author has edited one of my novels. My judgment may be clouded by friendly feelings.

I adored this book!

First off, it’s just soooo perfectly British. Being a huge angliophile all the little British-isms made me want to squeal like a little fan girl. It was like taking a mind vacay to England and that was just lovely.

There is a little known (in America, anyway) British show that was on awhile back called Black Books, starring one of my absolutely favorite comedians, (and he’s a damn fine man, as well) Irish cutie Dylan Moran. The bookstore setting and all reminds me very much of that show, which made me all blissful and happy.

Now to the actual plot and characters and such;

Mel is a very sad, rather pathetic figure in the beginning, a little frustrating, but very REAL, if you get me. She is also described minimally, but it is reiterated more than once that she is quite plain and could stand to lose a few pounds. Just off a nasty breakup with the only man she had ever slept with and staying with her only real friend and his boyfriend, we start with Mel desperately passing out resumes to get a job and try to get back on her feet. She doesn’t get very far before her bestie’s awesome partner takes pity on her and personally takes her to Diamond Books.

She gets her job after meeting Dominic Diamond. Dom is totally sexy and sweet and Mel is blown away by him, but she has NO clue what he is really like.

Dom is as pathetic and messed up in his way as Mel is in hers. He's a man slut, addicted to sex and using women left and right like a little whore. This sounds effed up and it is, but the writer does a superb job of making you fall in love with both Mel and Dom and all their brokeness. One of my fave quotes from this book is:

'Maybe every single person on the planet is completely messed up in their own special way.'

What a beautiful mess this book is! I didn't want it to end!

Excellent Source for Stadia Builders/Designers

I was amazed by the information overflow and detailed accuracy in this work. You may think there's a lot of extra info and not enough pictures/diagrams, but believe me there's plenty of images that helps reader's comprehension levels. I think it is a very good source for anybody, who needs to get inspired and to design new stadia. It helps you from ground up. As for the price, it is well worth to spend on this book rather than try to compile bunch of other cheap ones. This book gives back much more value than it takes out from your pocket. Finally, it is a very successful work and keeps replenishing with newest inventions in stadia technology. That is why this is the 4th edition.

Must have but not alone

If you're looking for a book with architectural drawings such as floor plans, sections or elevation i believe it's not the best book for you.

This book mainly contains lots of information and diagrams about stadiums and it's standards which is very helpful for any architectural studies.. it's a very rich book for those who want to know more about stadium design but i recommend having beside it another book with more architectural drawings to give you the whole picture.

Love this book but it is very pricy. I own the earlier edition and purchased the newer edition but I didn't find it that much different from the edition I own. i would recommend this book to anyone especially a design professional who is interested in stadium design.
